Cancer is not Spiritual. Praying for a cure is as meaningless as substituting prayer for water. Prayer will not slake your thirst. Given enough time anyone and everyone who substitutes prayer for water will die of thirst. Cancer has no religious meaning. It is not part of a test. It does not make you better, stronger, compassionate, wiser. Cancer sufferers are not soldiers in a war.

@Gamz2010: There is a naturopathic approach that will help your prostate.

The substance Amygdalin (rich in hydrogen cyanide) is found in the seeds & kernels of apples, pumpkins, pears, plums, apricots, peaches as well as in bamboo, beet-tops, millet, bitter almonds & salmon berries. Amygdalin (a.k.a. vitamin B17, and known as Laetrile when derived fr. apricot kernels) is the preventative, treatment & cure for the chronic metabolic disease: CANCER.

O man, ive noticed a bump on my testicle 5 months ago and its been hurting since then but im too embarassed to see my doctor or break the news to my family. I need to get it checked. I heard that in the earliest signs its easy to treat but i think ive been hiding it way too long that it has spread…my left leg has been feeling numb as well.

It certainly means there are cancer prostate cells spread through all your body. You could take female hormones and see what happens. It is not very good situation.

I am 56 and just had a PSA test and my score was 164. They did an Orchiectomy (took both of my testicles) and my PSA went down to 100.350. Has anyone else had a PSA this high before and if so what can I expect? God Bless!!

  • JNJhealth:

@cmobama The best advice is to consult your doctor or health care professional.

This is a little scary to me. I’ve had the prostate exam but I don’t think they tested me for cancer. Now, I’m having some additional problems. Either my enlarged prostate is getting bigger or something else is wrong. I have an appointment this week to see a doctor.

seems like a cool guy, I hope he’s okay

My understanding is that the PSA test, though a good tool, is not always accurate. The prostate biopsy is more accurate, but is also VERY painful. The patient is not just stuck with the needle once, but 10 to 12 times. But as pointed out, it may save your life.

  • JMC01644:

I know two people that have had/have prostate cancer. Any form of cancer is not good no matter what. Is there an update on this gentleman? I hope the best for him!

  • JNJhealth:

Actually, that’s not completely true. There often are not, but there may be symptoms, as referenced by the CDC, such as blood in the urine and the frequent need to urinate. A physical exam may also confirm an irregularity on the prostate. However, you’re right that an elevated PSA usually indicates the need for a biopsy. I am also speaking from personal experience, as a prostate cancer survivor.
